It has been listing in the National Archives of Australia I paint and teach painting at my studio in the Perth Hills of Western Australia and at Phon Phisai in NE Thailand I use a combination of techniques including oil and acrylic, oil pastel and inks, digital painting and photography, with a wide range of subjects. View Jeremy Holton's profile on LinkedIn After graduating in England, Jeremy worked as; a Town Planner in the UK; a Geologist in East Africa and Australia; an Information Technology executive in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth; and as Director of IT consulting for Ernst & Young. He studied for the Diploma of Art at the Claremont School of Art, in Perth. In 1994 he held his first solo exhibition of Pilbara landscapes at Woodside Petroleum in Perth and in Karratha. Since then he has had highly successful annual exhibitions at galleries in Perth as well as exhibiting in Melbourne, Adelaide, Broome, Yallingup, Mandurah, Cairns and the USA. His paintings have proved to be popular with publishers and are used in book covers published by the Australian Broadcasting Commission, Michigan University Press and CD albums. Lloyd Rees, Van Gogh, Bonnard, Klimt, the Fauves, Lucian Freud, Arthur Boyd, Sidney Nolan, John Perceval and Fred Williams have influenced Jeremy. Despite a wide range of techniques and approaches to painting, Jeremy’s work is immediately recognisable due to his strong style. He works mainly in oil on canvas but also uses oil pastels and inks on paper. Jeremy's subject matter is mainly landscapes/townscapes, which capture the colours and contrasts of Australia, together with some nudes and flower studies.
